2027 Lexus NX US Version Goes Fully Electrified
- The 2027 Lexus NX US version moves to a 100% electrified lineup, offered only as NX 350h Hybrid or NX 450h+ Plug-in Hybrid across four grades.
- Every grade now gets a standard 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen, a built-in Drive Recorder dashcam, and the latest Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 suite.
- Sensory Concierge, a multisensory cabin system with lighting, fragrance and climate modes, is available on Luxury and F SPORT grades.
Lexus has confirmed US specifications for the 2027 NX, announced out of Plano, Texas on September 1, and the biggest structural change is that combustion-only power is gone entirely. Every NX for 2027 ships as either a 350h Hybrid or a 450h+ Plug-in Hybrid, continuing a nameplate that's been a steady seller for Lexus since its 2014 debut. The refreshed model is expected across global markets by the end of 2026, though full US pricing will follow closer to launch.
Exterior design observations
The US release describes the same "Vital Tech" design evolution as Lexus's global materials: a mesh grille integrating headlamps and cornering lamps, dual-line headlamp signatures combining turn signals and daytime running lights, and exterior mirrors switching from chrome to black accents. Around back, the NX picks up what Lexus calls its first Double L Signature tail lamp design. Nine exterior colors are available, including two new options for this market — an ash-green shade called Shaded Ivy, and a cooler-toned Incognito reserved for F SPORT grades.
Vehicle proportions and stance
The release doesn't specify exterior dimensions such as length, width, height or wheelbase for the US-market NX [Unverified]. What is detailed is drivetrain layout by grade: Premium and Premium+ Hybrid models can be had in front- or all-wheel drive, while F SPORT and Luxury Hybrid grades come exclusively with all-wheel drive. Every Plug-in Hybrid grade, regardless of trim, is all-wheel drive only.
Interior space and technology
A 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen is now standard across every grade, paired with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in a horizontally aligned layout Lexus says reduces eye movement from the road. A redesigned steering wheel introduces Responsive Hidden Switches with translucent panels, and continuous ambient lighting runs from the dashboard into the door trim. Models with the optional Mark Levinson audio system get perforated speaker grilles with an illuminated ring. Five interior color choices include two new options, Abalos and the F SPORT-exclusive Radiant Red. On Luxury and F SPORT grades, Sensory Concierge coordinates lighting, climate, seat temperature and fragrance across three modes — Inspire, Radiance and Revitalize — with three named fragrance options available for this market: Shinmei, Seiyo and Hanya.
Powertrain or performance details
Both drivetrains use a newly designed e-Axle integrating the transaxle, motor and power control unit, alongside silicon carbide semiconductors in the inverter for improved efficiency. The 450h+ Plug-in Hybrid gets a new lithium-ion battery with an 8 percent output increase and 30 percent more capacity, plus standard DC fast charging and a power-operated charge port door. Specific horsepower, torque or acceleration figures for the US market aren't included in this release [Unverified]. The E-Four all-wheel-drive system now keeps the rear motor engaged during straight-line driving, not just during launch or wheel slip.

Practical usability features
All grades come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, which adds Intersection Turn Assist, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist and an expanded-range Pre-Collision System with pedestrian detection. A standard Drive Recorder provides built-in dashcam functionality without a visible interior camera. Connected services — Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect and Wi-Fi Connect — each come with a 5-year trial for the 2027 model year, alongside Digital Key phone-as-key functionality.
